What is an e-form?

An e-form is the electronic equivalent of the paper form which has been developed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to ease the process of company registrations online.

What are the documents to be filed with RoC every year?

The companies have to file the Balance Sheet and Annual Return every year.

How does a physical document get converted into an electronic document?

The physical/paper document is the hard form of a document and an electronic equivalent of the same is termed as a digital document or electronic document. A physical document is converted into an electronic document through scanning. It can then be attached to an e-form. It can also be converted to a PDF format for using it as an attachment to the e-form.

How to sign an e-form digitally?

An authorized signatory/ representative can sign a document using the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) obtained from a Certifying Agency. A Java runtime platform is required for signing the same. Any error in installing, or version incompatibilities of browsers, java will not allow the certificate to sign the e-form. A PDF reader with compatible version and internet connection is required to ensure that the certificate is signed

How to make an electronic payment?

Payments can be made electronically through credit/debit card or Internet Banking. During the e-Filing process, the system will prompt to make payment, at that time we can opt for a preferred payment mode and make the payment accordingly.

Can I make the payment offline, if I don’t have a Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking?

In the absence of credit/debit card or Internet banking facility, one can make payment at the counter of an authorized bank through the pre-filled challan generated by the system after e-Filing. For the collection of such payments, numerous branches in all major cities and towns of State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank etc have been authorized. Details of the branches of the above banks offering this facility are given on 'Authorised Banks' link on the MCA portal.

How can I view a demo on the e-Filing process?

One can view the demo for E-filing process through the 'Computer Based Training' link available on the homepage of the MCA portal.

How do I obtain more than one signature in the eForm, which requires multiple signatures?

In an eForm with more than one signature; it is suggested that the Authorised signatory of the company should first sign the eForm and then send the digitally signed eForm to the next person whose signature is required to be appended in the eForm either through mail or in a compact or floppy disc. Once the signatures of all the signatories are obtained, the eForm can then be uploaded on the system for submission.

Can the form once submitted, be rectified by the company user?

Once filed, the eForm cannot be rectified. You may, however, re-submit the e-Form, if the concerned MCA office has marked the status of your SRN as 'Required Re-submission'.
